Social Media Madness

We are concerned. There is a new addiction. Social Media.

It steals you. Your time, your attention and your ability to make decisions.

It is also incredibly useful. You can find people to discuss things, sell your art, your creations, share your poetry or writing and of course laugh at the antics of cats.

But it can become serious, quickly.

Political polarisation causes divisions. This works by reinforcing prejudice and fear of “the other”.

Political life seems all about winning no matter what. Is it really about finding the appropriate social constructs that improve the lives of the most people?

Probably neither. I think politics is so wrapped up in fund raising that it is really about making huge amounts of money and accumulating power.

Celebrity culture can become obsessional. Celebrities are really just people who have achieved success. Some via social media.

But fake videos featuring celebrities are now everywhere.

AI voice overs on videos speak with authority and without authenticity.
