“Post-Truth” Society

No, this cannot become a « post-truth » society because « truth » is something we’ve aimed for; it’s not something we’ve grown out of. The post-modern project was all about recognising how many different truths all coexist at the same time depending on where you’re looking from, like one of those Picasso paintings with three eyes and two noses. It is vital that we do not conflate post-modern « truths » with post-truth « non-truths » because any hope at all of contract, oath, promise, guarantee and giving one’s word depends utterly on the expectation that you expect what you say will line up with what you do. In other words, we cannot bypass truth.
